Buying Jewelry for the Women in Your Life

Being a woman,  and being a woman with years of jewelry sales experience, I know of very few females who don’t appreciate a gift of  beautiful jewelry.  I’ve seen all manner of client, many of whom are men with nary a clue as to what to purchase.



If you’re at a loss, here are a few tips which should help in your selection for the women in your life:

Grandmother

A nice brooch is usually a good choice.  It complements a sweater,  a dress or a coat , and some even double as a pendant.  Find out what Grandma likes, is she a cat person, does she enjoy flowers, does she have any special hobby?  There are brooches for virtually everything under the sun, from acorn to zebra motifs.   You might also consider a “family” brooch/pendant  which contains a birthstone for every member of the family.   Another popular choice is pearls – whether it be necklace, pendant, earrings, bracelet or ring.

Mother

Again, a family brooch or family ring is a good choice.  So is her birthstone in any form – ring, pendant, earrings.  Another popular choice is a pendant specifically for mothers.  For example a heart with the word “Mother” in the center.  There are many of these types to choose from.

Wife/Fiancee/Girlfriend

If you really have no idea, a pair of classic diamond stud earrings, complemented with matching diamond pendant is a surefire choice.  I have never, ever seen a return or an exchange for this choice.  Diamonds are timeless and fad proof and will always complement anything your lady wears – whether jeans or gown.  This can be followed up with matching bracelet and ring.

If she already has a diamond collection, perhaps sapphires, rubies, emeralds or pearls would complement her wardrobe.

Another classic choice is a gold suite  - necklace (not to be confused with “chain”), bracelet and earrings.  There are many suites of different styles and price ranges, and usually each matching piece can be sold separately, so each piece can be a unique gift.
